Capen Park Engagement | Lexi & Brad

Capen Park is a hidden gem in Columbia. It’s filled with amazing scenery of trees flooded by beautiful light from above, woodland trails blazing through the forest and a beautiful creek that meanders through the entire park. When Lexi and Brad expressed their desire for a natural setting to their engagement, no other place came to mind. This wild backdrop was the perfect contrast to Lexi and Brad’s sophisticated style.

Funny Little Fairytale in Capen Park

Speaking of style, Lexi is the author of a travel and lifestyle blog called funny little fairytale and it’s our new favorite find. She chronicles the adventures she and Brad take as they navigate their a new life together in Kansas City. As a native California girl, she brings her sunny perspective to the Midwest as well as her east coast style. It’s so fun to keep up with them on the blog and if you’re looking for a great Instagram account to follow, then @funnylittlefairytale is a great find!

I enjoyed getting to know these two as we wandered through the park, stopping often to grab some shots. When Lexi arrived with not one, not two, but three amazing dresses for the shoot, my heart skipped a beat. She even brought her own changing tent so that she could easily change from one dress to the next in the park (note to self – get a changing tent!). We had such an amazing time and it was way too short, leaving me anxiously awaiting the next time we see each other at their spring wedding.
