Love Tree Studios // Wedding Photographer Servicing St. Louis, Missouri

I'm the heart behind Love Tree Studios, and I've spent over two decades doing the thing I love most: finding the light in people and letting it live on film.

St. Louis has a way of doing something to wedding days that I never get tired of. There's an architecture here that breathes, grand venues with real history, and natural light that moves through old windows and cathedral ceilings like it was made for this. The city feels grown up and romantic all at once, and that combination makes my job feel more like a gift than work.

What I love most about photographing St. Louis weddings isn't the backdrops. It's the people. Missouri couples tend to be the kind who show up for each other, surrounded by families who have been waiting for this day for years. That genuine warmth is what I'm there to document.

My approach is collaborative and unhurried. I create space for real moments to unfold, whether you're eloping in a courthouse or celebrating with three hundred of your closest people. I shoot on film alongside digital, because film slows everything down in the best way. It sees light the way memory does, warm, layered, a little luminous.

I believe every person carries a light no sun could replicate. That's what I photograph. Not just your wedding day, but the version of you that will live in your grandchildren's albums someday.

If you're getting married in St. Louis, Missouri, I'd love to talk.

Hello, I'm Aubrey!

Getting married in St. louis?

a bit about me and what I love about St. Louis weddings...

as seen in

You found this page probably because you're getting married in St. Louis.

And if I had to guess, you've got seventeen browser tabs open, a glass of wine nearby, and you're somewhere between excited and completely overwhelmed by the whole thing.

Here's the good news: you're in the right place.

First things first, get your venue locked in (I've got a list of some of my favorites below). Once that date is yours, the rest starts to fall into place. Second comes your photographer, and hey, maybe that's me. No pressure, but take a look around and if something feels right, let's talk.

This city does something to me. There's a warmth here, in the people, in the light, in the way these old ballrooms and garden estates and rooftop venues hold a wedding day like they were built for it. The architecture alone makes my heart race a little. Grand staircases. Cathedral ceilings. Windows that pull in afternoon light like a painting. St. Louis knows how to set a scene.

But the backdrop is only part of it. What really gets me is the people. Missouri couples show up for each other in this full, unhurried way. Their families have been waiting for this day for years, and you can feel it in every room. I'm there for all of it. The grandmother wiping her eyes during the first dance. The best friend losing it during the toasts. The wide, squinting, bear-hug smiles that happen when someone you love hasn't seen you in years and suddenly there you are, in a wedding dress. That is the stuff I live for.

I'm Aubrey, owner and photographer behind Love Tree Studios, and I've been doing this for nearly twenty years. On a wedding day I'm part photographer, part quiet observer, part hype woman, and occasionally the person discreetly fixing your veil or holding your bouquet while you hug someone. I cry at toasts more often than I'd like to admit. I will absolutely find the most beautiful patch of late afternoon light in the room and drag you toward it, gently.

My work lives at the intersection of fine art and film, warm and luminous, real and timeless. I shoot both digital and film, because film sees light the way memory does. It's layered and soft and a little golden, and it makes wedding images feel like something you actually want to frame and hand down someday.

If you're still here, let me tell you a little about why I am completely in love with shooting weddings in St. Louis.

I believe every person carries a light no sun could replicate. St. Louis just happens to be one of my favorite places to find it.

Top Six Wedding Venues in St. Louis, Missouri

a list of weddings venues that I believe are stunning for wedding photography

Bellerive Country Club

There are places that feel like they were made for a wedding day, and Bellerive is one of them. This storied private country club brings together manicured grounds, gracious architecture, and the kind of white-glove service that makes every detail feel effortless. From the elegant ballroom to the sweeping outdoor spaces, Bellerive offers a timeless backdrop that photographs beautifully in every season. If you've always imagined a wedding that feels like old money and new love, this is your place.

St. Louis Art Museum

There is nothing quite like having one of the most iconic buildings in St. Louis entirely to yourself. The St. Louis Art Museum offers soaring skylights, marble galleries, and the kind of dramatic architecture that makes every corner a portrait opportunity. Dancing at the end of the night surrounded by masterworks, toasting under those cathedral ceilings, celebrating in a space that belongs to the whole city but feels, just for tonight, entirely yours. It's a wedding experience unlike anything else in St. Louis.

The Noble

The Noble brings something genuinely different to the St. Louis wedding scene. Housed in a historic building with a converted vault that your guests will not stop talking about, this Art Deco gem balances industrial edge with refined elegance. The light here is moody and layered, the architectural details are endlessly interesting, and the whole space feels like it was designed for photographers. If you want a wedding that feels elevated and editorial, The Noble delivers.

The Coronado

Built in 1925 and lovingly restored, The Coronado is the kind of venue that makes you feel like you've stepped into another era entirely. The ballroom with its original terrazzo dance floor, the grand public spaces, the layers of Art Deco detail throughout every room. It can host up to 350 seated guests without ever losing its intimacy, and the transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception each feel like a completely new and beautiful space. Pure St. Louis glamour.

The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis

Located in the heart of Clayton, the Ritz-Carlton is the definition of full-service luxury. The ballroom features soaring ceilings and chandeliers that make even a grand guest list feel intimate and warm, and the versatility of the property means every part of your wedding weekend has a home here, from rehearsal dinner in the Wine Room to cocktail hour in the Solarium to a farewell brunch the morning after. If you want seamless, polished, and completely taken care of from start to finish, this is it.

The Missouri Athletic Club

The MAC is a St. Louis institution, and hosting your wedding here carries with it a real sense of occasion. The ballroom features ornate ceilings, brass sconces, rich architectural detailing, and a mezzanine balcony that overlooks the main floor in the most dramatic way. It has the feel of a true private club, with the kind of attentive service and refined atmosphere that luxury couples are looking for. This is a wedding that your guests will be talking about for years.

A Little Background on St. Louis, Missouri

St. Louis is one of those cities that surprises people. It's bigger, more beautiful, and more interesting than visitors expect, with a skyline anchored by the iconic Gateway Arch and neighborhoods full of character, history, and genuinely great food. Situated along the Mississippi River at the heart of the country, St. Louis has always been a crossroads city, and that energy shows up everywhere from the architecture to the arts scene to the people themselves.

It's a city that takes pride in its culture. St. Louis is home to world-class museums, a beloved baseball team, one of the most beautiful urban parks in the country in Forest Park, and a food scene that has quietly become one of the best in the Midwest. It also happens to be one of the most welcoming cities you'll ever visit, which makes it an exceptional place to gather your people for a wedding weekend.

Weather

St. Louis has four very distinct seasons. Spring and early fall are absolutely stunning, with mild temperatures, blooming trees, and the kind of golden afternoon light that makes everything look like a film still. Summer is warm and lush, and winter brings occasional snow that turns the city's historic architecture into something truly magical. If you're planning a fall wedding, St. Louis in October is hard to beat.

Things to Do

St. Louis punches well above its weight when it comes to things to do. Forest Park alone could keep you busy for an entire weekend, and nearly everything in the city's cultural core is free or low-cost. The restaurant scene in neighborhoods like The Hill, Clayton, and Midtown is exceptional, and the city's live music and arts calendar runs year-round.

Personally, I highly recommend:

The Gateway Arch for tram rides to the top and sweeping views of the Mississippi River.
Forest Park for a long walk, a paddle boat, and some of the best green space in any American city.
The St. Louis Art Museum for world-class collections in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.
The Missouri Botanical Garden for 79 acres of curated gardens that are breathtaking in every season.
Busch Stadium for a Cardinals game if the timing works out because there is nothing more St. Louis than that.
The Hill neighborhood for some of the best Italian food you will find anywhere in the country.
City Museum for a wildly imaginative experience that adults love just as much as kids.
Soulard Market for a Saturday morning farmers market in one of the city's most charming historic neighborhoods.
