Jen and Alex met me for their Columbia Missouri Anniversary Session at The Pinnacles Youth Park.  This was my first time meeting the two of them and therefore I was excited to document their upcoming June anniversary.  Before beginning we took a moment to get to know each other where I learned Jen is a kindergarten teacher at a local elementary school and Alex is an athletic trainer at the University.  Aren’t they the cutest? I just love a good anniversary shoot because our couples are quite relaxed and natural with each other.  There’s more of an emphasis on capturing emotion and personality – which is my absolute favorite!

We chose to do the anniversary session at The Pinnacles Youth Park because of it’s beautiful scenery.  It’s one of my favorite places to shoot because of it’s shallow creek bed, beautiful trails and signature Missouri bluff tops. As soon as I started shooting I knew this session was going to be amazing.  These two did not disappoint as I captured frame after beautiful frame of their love on film!  They were so fun to work with and were quite natural in front of my lens. We had the best time exploring the park.  They were even quite trusting as I led them high above the tree tops to the top of the park’s famous bluffs for some dramatic shots.  We met new friends along the way as there were many hikers exploring the park that day.  They announced congratulations to Jen and Alex as they continued on their way.

At the end of the session, Jen and Alex indulged my creativeness by wading out into the creek bed.  The water at their feet and the bluffs behind them made for some spectacular scenery.  It was the perfect afternoon.
