Columbia Missouri Family Photographer

There is something so special about two.

It is the age where personality shines, where twirls feel dramatic, and where giggles turn into full belly laughs. Parker walked into the studio with her soft curls, little bows, and that spark in her eyes that only two-year-olds seem to have. She was equal parts sweet and spunky, and I loved every minute of it.

As a Columbia Missouri family photographer, milestone sessions like this are some of my favorites to document.

We began with timeless studio portraits. Her lace dress and full tulle skirt felt classic and heirloom-worthy against the soft, neutral tones of my natural light studio. These are the kinds of images that will never go out of style. Clean. Simple. Focused entirely on her.

Then we layered in personality.

Her custom denim jacket with her name across the back added a playful, modern touch. Two-year sessions are the perfect mix of polished and expressive, and Parker embraced both beautifully.

A Studio Milestone Session with Meaning

What made this session even more special was that it was not just a birthday milestone. It was also a celebration of growing their family.

After we captured Parker’s classic two-year portraits and family images, we transitioned into their gender reveal. The energy shifted in the sweetest way. Anticipation. Excitement. A little bit of suspense.

When they cut into the cake and saw pink inside, the joy on their faces said everything.

It was one of those moments you cannot recreate. Real reactions. Real emotion. Real memories.

And Parker absolutely stole the show.

Capturing the In-Between Years

Milestones are not just about the age. They are about the season your family is in.

This session documented Parker at two years old. It documented her parents in this fleeting chapter. And it documented the beginning of a new story with a baby girl on the way.
