Oh, this day.
Kelsey and Brycen’s wedding felt timeless in every sense of the word. Classic black and white details, a traditional church ceremony, golden fall light at Stephens Lake Park, and a downtown Columbia reception that felt like one big celebration with their favorite people.
From the very beginning, everything about their day was intentional and elegant.

Kelsey chose a refined black and white invitation suite featuring a simple monogram and clean typography. Paired with creamy ivory roses and delicate baby’s breath, the flat lays set the tone for a day that would be understated, polished, and deeply meaningful.
It was the kind of design that never goes out of style.

The morning light poured through soft white curtains as Kelsey stepped into her gown. Her dress was sleek and structured with delicate straps and a timeless silhouette that flowed into the most graceful train. Watching her mom adjust the hem and smooth the fabric was one of those quiet, emotional moments that always stays with me.
She looked radiant. Calm. Completely present.

Meanwhile, Brycen and his groomsmen got ready nearby, helping with cufflinks and straightening ties. I loved the black and white portraits of Brycen laughing as his best man adjusted his collar. There’s something about those pre-ceremony moments that feel both relaxed and full of anticipation.

Their ceremony at Missouri United Methodist Church was breathtaking. The grand organ, arched architecture, and glowing stained glass created such a powerful setting.
When Kelsey walked down the aisle, escorted by her dad, the entire sanctuary seemed to pause. Guests leaned in. Brycen’s expression said everything.
No first look. Just that moment.
It was reverent and joyful all at once.

After the ceremony, they shared a quiet kiss framed by the stained glass doorway as the afternoon light streamed in. One of my favorite images from the entire day.

We headed to Stephens Lake Park between the ceremony and reception, and the October light could not have been more perfect. Warm, golden, and soft.
The bridal party in black was such a striking contrast against the green grass and early hints of fall color. Kelsey’s white bouquet stood out beautifully against the bridesmaids’ satin gowns.
Walking shots, laughter, easy conversation. It felt natural and effortless.

Then we captured portraits of just the two of them beneath the trees as the sun dipped lower. Her veil catching the light. Brycen’s arm around her waist. The kind of images that will look just as beautiful fifty years from now.

Before heading inside, we made a quick stop outside The Atrium on Tenth where the marquee read:
“Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Ratcliffe 10.11.25”
It was such a fun, iconic Columbia moment.

Inside, the reception felt warm and lively with string lights overhead and guests gathered closely around the dance floor. They entered, went straight into cut their cake, and the celebration never slowed down.
Black and white reception images captured the movement and emotion perfectly. The twirl. The smiles. The way Brycen looked at Kelsey as they danced.
It truly felt like one big party.

What I loved most about Kelsey and Brycen’s wedding was how grounded it felt. Nothing was rushed. Nothing felt overdone. Every part of the day reflected who they are.
Classic. Joyful. Deeply connected to their people.
These are the kinds of weddings I adore photographing. A beautiful church ceremony. Meaningful family moments. Elegant style. And a reception that turns into a dance floor full of laughter.
Kelsey and Brycen, thank you for trusting me to document this chapter of your story. It was an honor to walk alongside you on such a meaningful day.
