Cozy and Vibrant Family Photography in Columbia, MO

Family sessions are my favorite, especially when they highlight the warmth of home and the beauty of autumn. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the Schaffner family in a two-part session that perfectly embodied cozy and vibrant family photography in Columbia, MO and captured their story in such a meaningful way.

We started in their home, filled with love, light, and the playful energy of their two dogs. The indoor moments were relaxed and heartfelt, allowing me to capture the family’s natural interactions in their space. Their furry family members added charm, reminding us how pets are truly part of the family.

Capturing the Perfect Blend of Home and Nature

After wrapping up the in-home portion, we then ventured outdoors to a stunning location that highlighted the vibrant fall colors Missouri is known for. The golden hues, fiery reds, and crisp autumn air provided the perfect backdrop for the second part of their session. Additionally, watching the Schaffners laugh and play together under the canopy of fall foliage was truly a joy to document.

This wasn’t my first time photographing the Schaffner family; I’ve had the privilege of capturing memories for them before, including baby Larsen’s newborn session. It’s always so special to see families grow and evolve over the years, and being able to create timeless images that reflect their journey is why I love what I do.
