Once in a while we all need a get away, even if it is just for an evening. To break away from the norm and take part in something mysteriously magical. Lately a new wave of wonderment has been all the rage out at Blue Bell Farm where Farm to Table dinners have taken on a whole new meaning. Each dinner hosted by Jamie and Derek is something out of a fairly tale. Small and intimate, guests arrive at the farm knowing only the theme of the dinner and the attire needed to be comfortable. Once they are warmly greeted by Bubbles the dog, the fun begins.
For this dinner, they decided to take it back to nature with the theme of Earth. Guests gathered under the porch for a refreshing cocktail made with freshly pressed watermelon juice from MO Juice in Jefferson City. It was the perfect way to mingle with old friends and make new ones at the start the evening. Once the dinner bell rang, it was time to head over to the green house for a mouth watering 5 course dinner provided by Chef Rex Hale from The Boundary at the Cheshire. He came in from St. Louis just for this occasion and we couldn’t have been happier. Course after course of deliciousness was parading in front of us, ending in the most amazing Apple Buckle that we have ever tasted. Seriously – we’re still dreaming of that warm apple and cornbread goodness!
As the evening progressed, the sun went to bed and the hum of conversation could be heard under the warm lights of the greenhouse. The wine flowed as guests laughed and made new memories and lively bluegrass music played in the background. The weather was perfectly cooperative and we absolutely adored the sundresses and hats that Jamie and the girls wore. It was another perfect Farm to Table experience and we can’t wait for the the next one!
