As a Columbia MO maternity photographer, I’m always honored to capture these beautiful new beginnings—and Hannah’s maternity session was no exception. Photographed in the comfort of her light-filled Columbia, MO home, this session felt like a heartfelt celebration of what’s to come. As someone who loves documenting real, emotional stories, it’s incredibly special when past wedding clients invite me back to witness new chapters in their lives. From the cozy indoor quiet to the blooming springtime portraits, this session was filled with all the tenderness and anticipation that comes with welcoming your first baby.
Some sessions are extra special, and this one definitely tugged at my heart. I had the absolute joy of photographing Hannah and Elliott’s wedding back in 2018—so when Hannah reached out to document this next chapter, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love being a Columbia MO maternity photographer so much.
We met on a quiet afternoon at their beautiful home, where soft sunlight poured into every corner and the atmosphere was calm, cozy, and full of expectation. There’s something deeply tender about capturing a mother-to-be in the space where she’ll soon bring her baby home. As a maternity photographer in Columbia, Missouri, those intimate, at-home moments always feel the most meaningful.
Hannah glowed in that effortless way only moms do, and it was a joy to witness how she and Elliott are preparing to welcome their baby boy this spring. Their love has only grown deeper since their wedding day, and now it’s transforming into something even more beautiful as they get ready for parenthood. Documenting this season as their Columbia MO maternity photographer was such a privilege.
We focused on natural, lifestyle moments—Hannah relaxing in their home, wrapped in soft light and sweet emotion. There’s nothing forced here—just real life and the beautiful anticipation that comes with it. These are the moments I love most as a Columbia MO maternity photographer—the quiet, unscripted in-between.
As the afternoon light softened, we stepped outside to take advantage of the beautiful spring blooms in their backyard. The soft pink blossoms were in full glory, wrapping Hannah in the dreamiest natural backdrop. These moments felt especially magical—like a quiet celebration of the new life growing inside her, surrounded by signs of new life all around. Outdoor maternity photos like these are one of the things I love offering as a maternity photographer in Columbia, Missouri, especially in springtime.
One of my favorite parts of the session was turning the nursery into a mini studio. The soft blue walls created a peaceful, calming backdrop, and the natural light streaming through the windows gave everything a gentle, airy glow. It was the perfect setting for timeless, quiet portraits—just Hannah, her baby bump, and that beautiful anticipation. As a Columbia MO maternity photographer, getting to work in a space so personal and full of meaning always brings out the most heartfelt moments.
Hannah and Elliott, thank you for inviting me back into your lives to witness another milestone. Watching your family grow is truly the greatest honor. I already can’t wait to meet your little one.
