It’s always so sweet getting to watch a family grow, and photographing the Summerhays each year is such a joy. I’ve had the privilege of photographing Misha and Ben since their wedding in 2020, and every time I see them again, it feels like catching up with old friends.
This session was extra special as I’ve seen their little boy, Brooks, grow from a shy baby into a bright, playful, and full-of-personality little guy. In past sessions, he’s been a bit hesitant around the camera – but not this time! Brooks was all smiles, giggles, and curiosity, and it was a dream to capture that joyful energy.
We met when the early morning light wrapped the whole session in a soft golden glow. The tall evergreens, warm fall grasses, and open lawn created such a dreamy backdrop for their timeless, natural color palette. Their outfits – simple, classic, and beautifully coordinated – let the love between them shine through in every frame.
From playful walking shots to quiet cuddles, this session had such a relaxed and connected feel. These are the kinds of photos I love to create. One where you can feel the warmth, laughter, and love that make a family uniquely theirs.
