Dana Point Harbor | Brit & Gabe

A beautiful day at the Dana Point Harbor beach brought us to our final installment of our workshop with the amazing Jeremy Chou. We were paired with a wonderful couple, Gabe & Brit, and they brought their modeling game effortlessly. Shooting beside an inspiration such as Jeremy was an exciting adventure that only deepened our love for film. At one point during our lessons we even timed Jeremy as he changed out the film in his camera. Let’s just say that as a result of that moment we realized how much practice we had ahead of us!

Throughout this workshop we were connecting with the old ways of film. Learning the ins and outs of our film cameras only deepened our love of the art and took us both back to our college days. Before our photography careers began we had spent many hours in the dark room. The process of exposing what was captured in a tiny box on a blank piece of paper through light and chemicals was intoxicating. We couldn’t get enough of it, no matter how many steps it took. After shooting for 7 years in the digital world, we are returning to our roots and remembering the beauty of patience. It’s a wonderful place to be.

As a result we are forever grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from our friend Jeremy. His passion for film photography helped us to find our new place, therefore awaking a sleeping medium that will forever love us in return.
